What is the meaning of taqdeer (destiny)?

Answer 1

Whatever takes place in the world and whatever people do is in the knowledge of Allah and is written with Him. This is called destiny. We carry out the acts but Allah has written how it will happen. By Allah writing what we are to do, it does not become compulsory on us. The one who denies destiny is called Majoos (magician) of the ummah.

How many types of taqdeer are there?

There are three types:

Mabram Haqeeqi- the knwledge of Allah which cannot be changed

Muallaq Mahz- pending in the books of angels and can be changed

Muallaq Shabi Ba Mubram- this is not shown to be pending in the books of angels but it is in the knowledge of Allah

What are the five things of Mabram Haqeeqi?

1. The time of birth
2. The time of death
3. The gender
4. A persons sustenance
5. If a person is a jannati or jahannami

What is the ruling for people who say destiny is the cause of their sins?

Answer 4

This is extremely wrong. When one does good he should attribute it to Allah and when one does bad he should attribute it to himself.

Is a person compelled to perform the things in his destiny?

Answer 5

No, he has free will to make his own choice. The matters of taqdeer cannot be understood by the ordinary mind. Abu Bakr and Umar were cautioned in this regard. Humans have both free will and intelligence so they can be held accountable for their own choices.

Give prophetic example of Mubram Haqeeqi.

The people of prophet Lut could not have been spared punishment.

What will the miscarridged child do for his parents?

He will intercede for them.
