What is a dermatome?
a unilateral area of skin innervated by the nerve fibers of a single spinal nerve that originated from a single spinal cord segment.
How many spinal nerves are there? From what areas?
There are 31 spinal nerves. 8 from the cervical, 12 from thoracic, 5 from lumbar, 5 from sacrum and 1 coccyygeal.
