Due to hormonal stimulation and blockage of follicles

- Antibiotics - 7- 10 day course
- OCA
- Creams
what are the patterns in Acne?
- Depressive heat in the lung and stomach
- Damp heat in middle jiao
- Blood stasis
- Disharmony between Chong and Ren

How would heat be presented in acne?
Red skin lesions
How would dampness be present?
Acne will be oily and there will be pus
Shirt collars will be dirty
Greasy tongue coating with wiry or slippery pulse
how would blood stasis be present?
Would turn into cystic acne, nodules or scars
dark purple with choppy pulse

clear heat, remove damp, cool blood or remove blood stasis
Education
Avoid greasy, spicy, sweet, heavy tasting, smoking alcohol - have a well balanced diet
Use as few cosmetics as possible
Gentle face wash
Do not pick or squeeze pimple
Regulate emotions
Proper sun exposure for a few mins
TCM: detoxification - through bowel movement 1x a day
Which points would you bleed?
Du 14, UB 13, UB 17 taiyang, LU5, UB 40 with cupping

Acne points: Du/UB meridian C7 - T7, dark red brown and wont change in colour when pressed. Cut white fibers
Lung, Sp, LI , endocrine, ear apex
which layer of skin when cut will cause scarring?

Red face with red lesions, may feel hot and pain, there maybe nodular papules
Strong appetite, bad breath, thirst with a desire for cold drinks, dry stools, or constipation, scanty yellow urine
Tongue: red tongue with yellow coating
Pulse: slippery rapid
