What is dermatitis ?
Inflammation of the skin
-also known as eczema
Early stage: red, dry, itchy
Chronic stage: crusty scales, painful cracks, blisters contains fluid
There are 5 types of Dermatitis ?
-Nummular Dermatitis (coin shaped lesion)
-Dyshidrotic Dermatitis (infect finger, palms and soles of the feet)
-Atropic Dermatitis / Eczema (long lasting inflammation, redness and irritation)
-Contact Dermatitis (caused by direct contact with a subtance)
-Seborrheic Dermatitis (flaking skin)
What causes Dermatitis ?
-stress
-detergent and soap
-allergic
-asthma / hay fever
-food
-cosmetics
-sweat
What are the signs and symptoms of Dermatitis ?
-dry skin
-Red rashes
-itchiness
-bumps
-swelling
-crusting

What are the pharmacological treatments of Dermatitis ?
-emollient or moisturiser
