what is being described by the risks listed below:
sleeps with a bottle containing anything other than water
snacks 3x or more daily
visibble biofilm on max incisiors
parents/caregivers dont brush child’s teeth
siblings/parents have caries
drinks low fluoride water and doesnt receive fl supps.
little or no fl in diet
from low income family
early childhood caries (ECC)
class 1 carie
caries or resto in the pits and fissures on the occlusal surface of molars and premolars, facial (buccal) or lingual pits and molars, and lingual pits of max incisors
class 2 carie
caries or resto on proximal surfaces of premolars and molars involving two or more surfaces
class 3 carie
caries or resto on proximal surfaces of incisors and canines
class 4 carie
caries or resto on proximal surfaces of incisors and canines AND also involving incisal edge
class 5 carie
caries or resto on gingival third of facial or lingual surfaces of ANY tooth
class 6 carie
caries or resto on incisal edge of anterior teeth or cusp tips of posterior teeth
when do you update a dentition chart?
at each re-care visit
molar: mesiobuccal cusp of the maxillary first molar occludes with the mesiobuccal groove of the mandibular first molar
canine: maxillary canine occludes with the distal half of the mandibular canine and the mesial half of the mandibular first premolar
anterior: no dental malalignments present
normal occlusion
molar: mesiobuccal cusp of the maxillary first molar occludes with the mesiobuccal groove of the mandibular first molar w/ malpositions of individual or groups of teeth may occur
canine: maxillary canine occludes with the distal half of the mandibular canine and the mesial half of the mandibular first premolar w/ malpositions of individual or groups of teeth may occur
anterior: dental malalignments present (crowding or spacing)
class 1 malocclusion
molar: mesiobuccal cusp of the maxillary first molar occludes (by more than one width of a premolar) mesial to the mesiobuccal groove of the mandibular first molar
canine: distal surface of the mandibular canine is distal to the mesial surface of the maxillary canine by at least the width of a premolar
anterior: maxillary anteriors protrude facially from the mandibular anterior, with deep overbite
class 2, distal 1 malocclusion
molar: mesiobuccal cusp of the maxillary first molar occludes (by more than one width of a premolar) mesial to the mesiobuccal groove of the mandibular first molar
canine: distal surface of the mandibular canine is distal to the mesial surface of the maxillary canine by at least the width of a premolar
anterior: maxillary central incisors are upright or retruded, and lateral incisors are tipped labially or overlap the central incisors with deep overbite
class 2, division 2 malocclusion
molar: mesiobuccal cusp of the maxillary first molar occludes (by more than the width of a premolar) distal to the mesiobuccal groove of the mandibular first molar
canine: distal surface of the mandibular canine is mesial to the mesial surface of the maxillary canine by at least the width of a premolar
anterior: mandibular incisors in complete crossbite
class 3 malocclusion
define crossbite
maxillary teeth are positioned lingually to the mandibular teeth; may be unilaterally or bilaterally
