How do you find the density of a liquid?

Answer 1

1. Place measuring cylinder on scale and zero.
2. Pour in 25cm3 liquid
3. Record the mass on the scale.
4. Use density=mass/volume.

Question 2

How do you find the density of an irregular object?

Answer 2

1. Fill eureka can with water until water drips out
2. Tie object to string
3. Place beaker under spout and slowly lower in object.
4. When water stops dripping remove beaker and pour water into measuring cylinder. This gives volume.
5. Place object on zeroed scale and record mass
6. Use density=mass/volume
