This was important because it forced the Scottish army had to flee to avoid destruction.

Edward divided Scottish land amongst his supporters.
This was important because the English re-established control over southern Scotland by establishing strengthened garrisons at strategic strongholds
Wallace after falkirk
1305 New Guardians chosen.
Important because they planned to attack Roxburgh castle, but Edward’s pre-emptive attack forced them to retreat to their own lands and organise their defences. 1305 New Guardians chosen.
Wallaces execution
1305 Wallace was betrayed, captured and executed in 1305.
This was important because Wallace retained symbolic importance to some Scots, and became an inspirational martyr due to his defiance by refusing to acknowledge Edward as his overlord.
