- Choose (what is the best option? create a detailed action plan)
- Implement (follow-through and monitor the outcome)

~ to improve the organization’s performance by successfully solving the problems that cause dissatisfaction for internal and external customers

What is a problem?
~ A situation that needs to be corrected
~ usually a shortfall, deficit, disharmony, or inconvenience

- Recognize the problem

- Alternative solutions

What is the differnce between a closed and open-ended problem?
Closed ended problems have fixed constraints and boundaries. Open ended problems do not, the boundaries on these problems may change.
What questions can you ask when identifying potential problems?
- What could go wrong?
- What is likely to go wrong?
- Can it be prevented?
- What can we do now?
- How did our decision work out?
