DEATH ON COMPOUND
The discovering Deputy Will:

- Immediately notifiedy medical staff and shift supervisor
- Secure the death scene, inform medical the aera is a crime scene
- Remain at the scene at all times until the case investigaor informs otherwise
- Note all persons having access to the scene ; provide infomration to the investigator
- Make a report to the shfit commander before leaving facility

- Call 911 when notified
- Ensure all related paperwork is collected (if victim is an inmate)

The Shift Supervisor will:

- Report to the area for assesment
- Aprise the shift commander of the situation
- Assign a Deputy (not discovering member) to record crime scene activity
- Inform medical responders the area is a crime scene & not to disturb evidence
- Ensure discovering member remains at the scene for responding investigators
- Have all staff in the area of the inciddnt or have information related to the incident; make a report before leaving the facility and forward to the shift commander

- On-duty clinical supervisor
- AID
- Affected Divison Commander
- DIU
- Comm Center for the on-call Homicdie/Robbery unit detective and PIO
- Review reports from all members inthe area of the incident
- Write a report of the incident, forward reports to the Department Commander via chain of command before leaving the facility

The hospital deputy will:
A
- Immediately notify medical staff and the Central Division shift supervisor
- Secure the death scene, inform medical personnel the area is a death/crime scene
- Remain at the scene at all times until released by the case investigator
- Documnet all persons having access to the death scene; provide to the investigator
- Make a report to the Central Division Shift Commander before the completion of the shift

- Ensure all releated paperwork is collected (if victim is an inmate)

The Central Division Shift Supervisor will:

- Report to the hospital for assesment
- Apprise the Central Divison Shift Commander of the situation
- Inform the medical respondants the area is a crime/death scene and not to disturb any evidence
- Ensure hospital deputy remains at the scene for repsonding investigators
- Have all staff in the area of the incdient or having information related to the incident; make a report before compelting shift; forwared all reprots to the shift commander

The Central Divison Shift Commander will NOTIFY:

- On-Duty clinical supervisor
- AID
- Central Division commander
- DIU
- Comm center for the on-call Homicide Unit detective and PIO
- Critical Incident Stress Management Team cooridiator via Communications Center (If deemed necessary)
- Review written reports from all members in the area of the incident
- Write a report of the incident; forward all related reports to the department commander via chain of command before leaving the facility

The discoverying deputy will:

- Immediately notify medical personnel and the shift supervisor
- Write a report detaling the injury including the time, location and possible witnesses
- Photographs should accompany the report
- In the event of transporation to an outside medical facility - write a report detailing detenion staff intervention - medical notification, EMS reponse and receiving hospital
- If the hospial admits the inmate, gather all personal property from his/her housing area and forward to inmate proeprty
