Q

How and where does the APU fed from:

  1. With an AC pump on
  2. With no AC pumps on
  3. 808SY, 809SY, 820SY, 821SY?
A
  1. AC pumps supply pressure from the left side of the fuel manifold
  2. Fuel is suction fed from main tank No. 1
  3. They have a DC APU fuel boost pump which operates automatically.

12
Q

If none of the fuel pumps are operating, will the engines still run?

A

Yes. Each engine can draw fuel from its corresponding main tank through a suction feed line that bypasses the pumps.

15
Q

What are the two ways to close both the spar and engine fuel SOVs?

A
  1. Pull the engine fire handle

2. Engine start lever to CUTOFF

16
Q

Can the center tank fuel scavenge jet pump be operated manually and when will it operate automatically?

A

You cannot operate manually but it will operate automatically when the No. 1 FWD fuel pump switch is ON and the No. 1 fuel main tank quantity is about half.

17
Q

Where does the FUEL TEMP indicator get its temperature from and why?

A

The No. 1. Because the hydraulic system B (which is bigger than system A) cools the hydraulics on tank No. 2, so No. 1 tank is less affected by hydraulic cooling.

18
Q

Is the fuel heated? If so, by what?

A

Yes, by

  1. Heat exchangers in each main fuel tank for the respective A and B hydraulic systems
  2. The main engine oil cooler
  3. The IDG fuel-cooled oil cooler
19
Q

What is the minimum fuel quantity in the related main fuel tanks for ground operation of electric motor-driven hydraulic pumps?

A

1675 lbs
