DB's SY 737 Flight Control Panel Flashcards
Flight Control Switches - STBY RUD
- Activates STBY hydraulic pump
- Opens STBY RUD SOV which pressurizes STBY RUD PCU
- Deactivates the Flight Control LOW PRESSURE light
- Activates the STANDBY HYDRAULIC LOW PRESSURE light
- Illuminates the STBY RUD ON light
Flight Control Switches - OFF
Closes flight control SOV, isolating flight controls from hydraulic pressure
Flight Control LOW PRESSURE lights on
Indicates low hydraulic system (A or B) pressure to flight controls
When are the Flight Control LOW PRESSURE lights deactivated?
When the associated FLIGHT CONTROL switch is STBY RUD and STBY RUD SOV opens.
Flight Spoiler Switches
Mx only.
Used to close the flight spoiler SOV
YAW DAMPER light on
Yaw damper is not engaged.
YAW DAMPER switch - OFF
Disengages yaw damper.
YAW DAMPER switch - ON
- If B FLT CONTROL switch is ON, engages main yaw damper to main rudder PCU.
- If both A and B FLT CONTROL switches are STBY RUD (manual reversion), engages STBY yaw damper to STBY RUD PCU
When will the Yaw Damper automatically disengage?
- SMYD senses a fault
- Yaw Damper does not respond to a command
- B FLT CONTROL switch is OFF or STBY RUD
STANDBY HYDRAULIC LOW QUANTITY light
- Indicates what?
- When armed?
- Indicates low quantity in standby hydraulic reservoir (below 50%)
- Always armed
STANDBY HYDRAULIC LOW PRESSURE light
- Indicates what?
- When armed?
- Indicates output pressure of standby pump is low
2. Armed only when standby pump is activated.
STBY RUD ON light - illuminated (Amber)
Standby rudder system is commanded on to pressurize STBY RUD PCU
ALTERNATE FLAPS Master Switch - OFF
Normal position
ALTERNATE FLAPS Master Switch - ARM
- Closes TE flap bypass valve
- Activates STBY pump
- Arms the ALT FLAPS position switch
When does the ALTERNATE FLAPS Position Switch function?
Only when ALT FLAPS Master Switch is in ARM.
ALTERNATE FLAPS Position Switch - OFF
Normal position
spring loaded here
ALTERNATE FLAPS Position Switch - DOWN
- (momentary) fully extends LE devices using STBY Hydraulic pressure
- (hold) electronically extends TE flaps until released
ALTERNATE FLAPS Position Switch - UP
- Electrically retracts TE flaps
* LE devices remain extended and cannot be retracted.
FEEL
DIFF PRESS
light - ON
Excessive differential pressure in the elevator feel computer.
SPEED TRIM FAIL light
- ON
- Recall
- Failure of speed trim system
2. Failure of single FCC channel
What are the conditions for the Speed Trim system to operate?
5-10 AAS • 5 seconds after trimming • 10 seconds after takeoff • Airspeed between 100 kts and .60 (fade out to zero by .68) • Autopilot not engaged • Sensing a need for trim
MACH TRIM FAIL light
- On
- Recall
- Failure of Mach trim system
2. Failure of a single FCC channel
What speeds are the Mach Trim system active?
.615 and higher
AUTO SLAT FAIL light
- On
- Recall
- Failure of auto slat system
2. Failure of a single Stall Management/Yaw Damper (SMYD) computer
When is the Autoslat function available?
At flap positions 1, 2, and 5.
SPEED BRAKES EXTENDED light - illuminated (Amber)
- In flight
- On the ground
- Speed brake lever is beyond ARMED position and
A. TE flaps extended beyond 10 or
B. Radio Altitude less than 800ft - SPEED BRAKE lever is in the DOWN detent and the ground spoilers are not stowed (inhibited when hydraulic system A pressure is less than 750psi)
