D2: Rear leg hook sweep
- Left hand on forearm just above elbow, right around neck
- Pull in close, this is a clinch
- Step behind with left foot to make space, right calf at their calf
- Kick right leg back and rotate upper body down to throw
D2: Front leg sweep
- Attacker walking towards
- Sweep their front foot out as they lift using opposite foot (sweep their inside to outside)
D2: Redirect against straight punch
- Kung fun style, left arm to attacker ear
- Not a block but a redirect
- KEEP ARM STRAIGHT
D2: 1-2 combo punch
- Attacker jabs with left, quick defence bat away with right leaning back
- Attacker does right cross, inside defence with left
- Right cross
D2: Double arm defence against roundhouse
- Stack forearms
- Turn vertically and block
D2: Hand defence kick to groin
- Hand under, push to redirect
- Body defence
D2: Knife: low straight stab defence
- Underhand push away (turn hand down)
- Body defence
D2: Knife: Oriental repeat stab defence
Stack arms
D2: Straight arm knife to side of throat
- Double c-grip knife arm at wrist
- Push back/up with arms straight,rotate their arm
- Drive back with knees
D2: Rear low knife threat defence
- Hands up but close hidden from attacker, look behind under arm
- Bat away knife to attacker inside
(So same hand as attacker) - Step fwd, back kick slightly above knee (you want knee). Might be D3
D2: Defence against powerful ice pick
- Rotate body 90 degrees and step in
- Double palm block at wrist and elbow
D2: Knife to left side of throat bent arm
- Hands up close, either side of arm
- Pluck knife hand to chest
- Right arm up under attacker tricep not armpit, arm at 45 degrees
- Drive back and up using knees
- Check for cuts
TIP: Shrug to make neck thicker
D2: Two Basic rear double handed choke defence
- Shrug, stabilise (they will likely be pushing), then elbow HIGH, continue forward
- Elbow rear high and turn into attacker, step deep across them positioned for left knee or punches
D2: Double handed jacket defence + control
- Hands up to outside! (head butt)
- Come across with u-grip under wrist and pluck
- Move right foot in, then out 90 degrees rotating body and keeping wrist to chest
- Strike with forearm to tricep, move out to wrist control (make heart, thumbs at middle knuckle little fingers at wrist)
D2: Two side choke defences
This is 80% of front technique
1. Archer for straight - pluck to chest and palm push under chin, release and counter with punches
2. For crooked, pluck and other arm under attacker bicep and drive up (remember to tuck head)
D2: Rear, hand across mouth defence
Same as rear naked choke inside defence (not v-choke technique!)
D2: Forearm against neck standing at a wall defence
Hand strike to elbow, turn head (body defence), pause then knee etc
D2: Strong handshake defence
Push their thumb in at the nail with left hand
D2: One hand wrist grab across body
“Jiu jitsu”, rotate wrist under, step 90 degrees and push away with hands on tricep and forearm
D2: Back breakfall
Tips
- Keep arms across chest as you fall
- Strike ground with forearms
- Come up into ground fighting stance
D2: Full mount knife to side of throat
Similar to straight arm standing knife to side
1. Hands up bring feet flat to bum
2. double c-grip and push out and buck, roll over
3. Twist arm holding knife on the floor (so attacker can’t lift it)
4. Strike attacker with other hand
5. Bring knife down and roll them onto it
D2: Football kick to head defence
- Turn onto side
- Bring knees up
- Arm defend face, fists on forehead
Tip: Tense fists to absorb force
D2: Bridging and bucking
- Feet as close to bum as possible but flat
- Twist and push up waist
TIP: Practice bridge by reaching arm over and behind, remember three points of contact
D2: Full mount forearm choke defence
- Hands up to defend face
- Feet up flat to bum
- Push attacker arm (strike)
- Use other arm to pull their bridge hand out from under them
- Bridge to roll them off and either roll the other way or up on one knee
Tip: Focus to keep leg that goes on top up so you end up on one knee
D2: Defending from ground
Ground fight stance
1. Right leg up and foot turned
2. Left foot down to move around, remember change foot for direction
Front bear hug arms trapped
- Make space and stabilise
- Palms together and strike up (Johnny Wilkinson)
- Underpin with arms on both sides, holding shoulders
- Knee and bring leg back
- Turn 90%
- Keep control with left and continue striking
- Optional take to the floor (rotate head down with right hand)
