D1: Two types of educational blocks
- Three fingers into throat, push off attacker
- Double folded arm push
D1: Straight punch defences
- Arms in front, palms overlapped
- Inside defence push hand to right with body defence, close to chest
- Forearms cover face with fists, back of hands against forehead
D1: Circular punch defences
- 360 defence, arms cross like x
- Move inside double palm block either side of elbow one hand close to wrist
- Cover side of head with arm “Grease” style, hand to back of neck not on ear
D1: Two leg defences low roundhouse
- Sacrificial leg like “Hello Sailor”
- Step into kick using shin to block, toes up
D1: Front football kick defences
- Back foot, turn 90 degrees and block
- Front foot, turn body 90 degrees and block with straight leg
D1: Front snap kick defence
“Hello sailor”
Twist body and turn one leg in front of the other to block groin
D1: Overhand knife “icepick” attack defence
360 block
Forearm makes an “x”
D1: Basic straight stab inside defence
As straight punch, deflect with opposite hand,aim for wrist
D1: Basic defence against low straight stab
Underhand push with opposite hand at wrist
D1: Low knife threat front and side defence
- Hands close to knife and stacked
- Slap and move away
D1: Three basic front choke defences
- Archer: hands up, pluck left and turn body, palm strike leaning forward.
- Hands up, arm up and over, turn body and step back, return with elbow
- Punch right then left
- Pluck both hands with simultaneous knee (probably not D1)
D1: Three one hand high jacket grab
Hands up
1. Left under attacker hand u-grip (thumb to left),right push thumb in
2. Step back and 90 degrees, wiper elbow against chest twice
3. Step under and push away hands at tricep and forearm
D1: Two side headlock defences
- Left arm over attacker arm, palm on palm and push away
- Pluck away locking arm, turn face and bite, groin strike knife hand, push off on lower back
D1: Two defences against one hand wrist grab same side
- Fold elbow to attacker elbow
- Point hand down, pull in and punch attacker wrist with other hand
D1: Defence against two hand wrist grab - non-aggressive
- Reach UNDER and grab palm
- Pull up and rotate over
D1: Front arms free bear hug
- Hands under jaw, thumbs in eyes and push back
- Stabilise, then elbow strikes and knees (if asked for two)
D1: Release from high rear bear hug arms trapped
- Hands on top of each other on attackers
- Push bum out to make space (if needed)
- Lift right arm and step under - don’t keep hold!
D1: Rear naked choke inside defence
- Hands u grip on attacker arm
- Rotate arm down
- Turn head
- Step back deep with left foot, don’t move right!
- Pull attacker off balance
Tip: Groin strike if tight or no space
D1: Ground fighting: attacker kick to head
- Roll to side of kick, curl body
- Arms protect face, fists on forehead
- Tense wrists for cushioning
D1: Two ground side chokes
Attacker knees down
1. Pluck with left
2. Educational block with right
3. Right knee block
4. Left kick away
Attacker one knee up
1. Pluck with left
2. Right between legs and push them over
3. Use crook of arm to throw leg over if up on one knee
4. Right hand to shoulder, left to hip, push off and knee to kidney
D1: Ground fighting: Stomp to head defence
- Turn and redirect foot with arm at 90 degrees
- Roll back and hammer fist groin followed by punch
- Use both hands to push them off
D1: Basic front break fall
- Kick legs apart (reduce height)
- Land on palms/forearms
- Turn head to one side
Tip: Remember to pass right arm under to turn onto back into ground fight atance
D1: Ground rape defence
Attacker between legs, hands on throat
1. Grab both wrists
2. Wriggle back keeping hold
3. Put right foot on floor with knee out
4. Kick their knee out
5. Roll the opposite way and get up in #3
D1: Full mount choke defence
- Bring feet up close to bum, feet flat
- Left foot outside attacker
- U-grip both hands
- Double pluck
- Right hand push and buck and roll, keep hold of left hand
- Strike face then down body
- Arm up to protect face then either throw leg over and push off hip and shoulder
OR
If kneeling between legs push up off knees
D1: Defence against neck choke with left hand other hand restraint behind neck
Attacker left hand behind neck,right on throat
1. Hands up
2. Pluck left to chest simultaneous right upward vertical elbow
