What does the acronym ABCDE mean?
airway, bones, circulation, diaphragm, lines and tubes
What is the normal position of the airway?
ind position of the trachea, radioluscent, in middle of image
What are we looking for in terms of the positioning of the bones?
Clavicles: symmetry of height and position on right and left
Ribs: equal spacing, from medial to lateral should be angled to the floor
What does the contour of the heart show us in the xray?
Top portion is the “base”/atria, bottom is l/r ventricle
What is a silhouette sign?
an intra-thoracic radio-opacity resulting in loss of “normal” anatomic landmark. the _____ angle gets hazy
What is the angle where the diaphragm meets the thorax? Acute or obtuse?
costophrenic angle. acute
What is the angle where the diaphragm meets the heart? Acute or obtuse?
