Ethic view - outsider view
the constructs measured in one culture have relevance across all cultures
Emic view - Insider view
a perspective focus on the intrinsic cultural distinctions that are meaningful to the members of a given society
Ethnocentrism
tendency to use your own cultures as the standard by which to judge and evaluate other cultures

The child in the centre of the model is influenced by factors in the immediate environment which interact with each other and in turn are influenced by the wider society/community, which is influenced by cultural beliefs and ideologies, laws, etc.
