"Crushing the Microstakes" General Rules Flashcards
1
Q
Keep decisions simple
A
- keep yourself out of trouble spots that will get you lost
- cbet when you should cbet, give up with they start fighting back
- don’t do anything outside of the box, avoid fancy plays
- remove randomness out and make well-thought out lines instead
2
Q
Don’t bluff at the micros
A
- a bluff is made on the turn/river in which you have nothing
- note: this does not include cbets or semi-bluffs
3
Q
Fish Psychology 101
A
- they like to “see where they are at” in hands with their min-bets, donks, and probe bets: usually means they have Top Pair No Kicker but probably a draw, bottom/middle pair, or even just air. Raise them especially IP
- if their bet size didn’t change, neither did their hand strength
- fish don’t make big bluffs: if they missed their draws they’ll usually do something dinky like 1/4, anything more than that means they have something good
- fish care more about pride and ego and think you’re bluffing: “they expect a bluff and you show them the nuts”
4
Q
Turn raises are usually the nuts
A
If you get raised on the turn, usually means 2pair+
5
Q
River raises are always the nuts
A
- stop calling river bets and your winrate will improve, if you only have top pair or worse then you’re done!
- exception: fish will min-raise in a small pot with silly things like TPNK and maybe even just overs. Call if you have TPGK+
