Presentation of croup

A
  • History
    • Barking cough
    • Harsh stridor
    • Hoarseness
    • Prodromal fever and coryza
  • Examination
    • Respiratory distress (severe)
      • Stridor
      • Sub/intercostal recessions
  • Symptoms are worse at night
  • Stridor at rest/during sleep indicates increased severity
