With the death of Piggy comes death of order and civility within the island – symbolised by the conch.

Repetition emphasises action, showing Ralph will be treated like a Pig and murdered by the savages – showing complete barbarity within the group.
The barbaric murder of Piggy conveys the theme that humans are fundamentally savage.
