They have become more lenient. However some crimes such as those related to sexism and racism or hate crimes have become harsher.

Motives have changed. Need vs want More middle and upper class people (white collar crime)

Lack of spirituality and RELIGION
More humanity- justice rather than revenge

How has crime changed over time?
A
Crimes can be worse now because it is easier to commit crimes on a mass scale because of new weapons and technology. New crimes such as cyber-crime exist now but there is probably less crime, it’s just worse.
