Q

The laws of nature

A

The laws of nature are descriptions of the interactions of material parts like matter, space, energy & time within the configuration of the universe itself.

Q

Questions for the Evolutionist

A

•Where did matter come from?
•Where did the space of the universe come from?
•Where did the laws of the universe come from (gravity, magnatism, inertia…)?
{there are a lot more}

Abiogenesis

A

The supposed development of living organisms from nonliving matter. Also called autogenesis, spontaneous generation

Biogenesis

A

The synthesis of substances by living organisms. The hypothesis that living matter arises only from other living matter.

Q

Creation Model

A

Diametrically opposed to the evolution model, the creation model involves a process of special creation which is: supernatural in nature; externally directed; has purpose, and was completed in the past.
•Like evolution, the creation model also applies universally. It also is irreversibly directional, but its direction is downward toward lower levels of complexity rather than upward toward higher levels.
•The completed original creation was perfect and has since been “running down.”

Q

•Summarizing the Creation Model:

A
  • Supernaturally directed by an Intelligent Designer
  • Externally directed (He directs natural law, natural law doesn’t control Him)
  • Has Purpose
  • Completed in the past – conserved in the present
  • Applies universally
  • Irreversibly directional

Q

The Law of Energy Conservation:

A

states that energy can be converted from one form into another but can neither be created nor destroyed.

Q

The Law of Energy Decay or Entropy

A

states that every system left to its own devices always tends to move from order to disorder, its energy tending to be transformed into lower levels of availability, finally reaching the state of complete randomness and unavailability for further work.

Theory of Relativity (E=MC²)

A

all matter, energy, space & time grew out from a single point of origin & has been expanding out ward ever since.

Q

The Law of Cause & Effect

A

no effect is ever quantitatively greater nor qualitatively superior to it’s cause. An effect can be lower than it’s cause but never higher.

Q

The Gap Theory

A

•The Gap Theory basically states that between Gen 1:1 & Gen 1:2 that there is a very long gap of time
•At the rebellion of Lucifer, a war in the heavenlies took place & the newly created Earth was destroyed or made formless & void.
There was a pre-Adamic or prehistoric race that was destroyed on the Earth at that time.
•The dinosaurs were also destroyed at this time by a flood.
•Then God re-created the Earth & made the garden of Eden and Adam & Eve.

Q

Old Earth Creationism

A
  • Old Earth Creationists or Progressive Creationists fervently believe that the size of the universe & many astronomical discoveries prove that the universe is 13-17 Billion yrs. old & was God engineered by the Big Bang.
  • They believe that nature provides an accurate understanding of God & His plan for history that is equal to the revelation of the scriptures.
17
Q

Progressive creationism

A

•“the teaching that God created in several steps; that is he created the first member of each kind, which then developed or evolved by natural selection.
•The kinds, then have not evolved from one another in an uninterrupted causal chain. This view, which is sometimes called microevolution (evolution within kinds) as opposed to macroevolution (evolution across kinds), puts emphasis upon the fact of creation rather than upon evolution.”
•Progressive Creationism teaches that the creation week has taken billions of yrs. And that each day of creation is several million to billions of yrs long
•Dr. Hugh Ross teaches that we are currently in the 7th day & that day began after God created Adam & Eve & won’t end until Jesus returns.
•This teaching says that the existence of physical death in our world is not due to Adam’s sin but death and suffering has existed for billions of yrs. Prior to Adam’s sin (Ro. 5:12-14).
Progressive Creationism teaches that Adam & Eve were created from the dust of the ground by God about 24,000 yrs. ago (contrary to what Jesus said in Mk 10:6).
•This teaching says there was no original paradise on Earth except in the sense that Adam walked with God.
•The Bible clearly says that animals were not created as carnivorous.
•The Bible clearly states that death & decay on Earth was the direct result of man’s sin and did not predate mankind.
•Teach that the flood of Noah was a local flood

Q

The evolutionary model

A

The evolutionary system attempts to explain the origin, development, and meaning of all things in terms of natural laws and processes which operate today as they have in the past.
•No extraneous processes, requiring the special activity of an external agent, or Creator, are permitted in the evolutionary model. The universe, in all its aspects, evolves itself into higher levels of order (particles to people) by means of its innate natural properties.
•Thus evolution entails a self-contained universe, in which its innate laws develop everything into higher levels of organization. Particles evolve into elements, elements into complex chemicals, complex chemicals into simple living systems, simple life forms into complex life, complex animal life into man.
