Rhode island
There were 55 people who attended and later helped to draft the Constitution. What were they called?
They were called Framers
Where did the framers meet and who was elected the president of the COnvention?
They met in Independence Hall and George Washington was unanimously elected president of the Convention
What were some of the business operation that they first decided (like voting..)
Each state would have one vote, and majority rules
What was the resolved proposition that led to the creation of the Constitution?
That the government ought to have a judiciary, executive branch, and legislative branch
What was the Virginia Plan?
It called for 3 seperate branches of government (ex. leg. jud)
Congress would be Bicaramel with representation in each house based on the population or how much money the State gave to the feds. The lower house would be called the House of Reps, and would be based on popular vote. The Senate would be chosen by a list of persons nominated from the state legislature by the house.
Under the Virginia plan, did Congress have the powers guarenteed under the Articles?
Yes, it retained all of the powers, in addition ot the power to legislate all cases in which States are incompetant.
What was the Judiciary like under the Virigina Plan?
Congress would choose a National Judiciary and a National Executive. Together, the two would form a council of revisions but could be overriden by votes from both houses.
What was the New Jersey Plan?
The unicarmel Congress. It called of a federal executive of more than one person (chosen by Congress) and a federal Judiciary would consist of one court. They wanted Congress not to be based on population
What was the Connecticut Compromise?
That in the Senate, the states would be equally represented, whereas in the House, representation would be based on population

Slaves were counted as 3/5 of a person.
What was the Commerce and Slave Trade Compromise?
Congress was forbidden the power to tax the export of goods form any State. It was also forbidden to act on the slave trade for at least 20 years
