What are the ABC’s of CPR?

A

A- airway check that the airway is open
B- breathing, check for breathing. (If none, do artificial respiration)
C- check for pulse. If none, do CPR.

How do you know if a person has a broken bone ?

A

It is difficult to tell that someone has a broken bone . Tell-tale to look for bruising, swelling and limbs twisted in an awkward position.

A

Do not move the person, keep the injured part still until help arrives. Support the injured part with blankets and towels. Call an adult of ambulance

How is concussion caused?

A

By an injury to the head.

Describe the actions of an concussed person.

A

When concussed, a person will be ‘knocked out’, sometimes just wait for a couple of seconds. The injured person may be confused , and may have difficulty remembering and may have have a headache.

A

Lay the person down with their head to the side
Talk to them and try make them wake up
Call help

If someone has a bad bleed? (4)

A

Press on where the blood is coming and keep pressing on it

Use a T-Shirt or any clothing (clean) to press on the bleed if possible

A

Keep away from the cause of the allergy
Get the person to sit comfortably
Encourage them to take their medication if they have it
If this doesn’t seem to help, tell an adult and call an ambulance

A

Get the person to sit comfortably
Help him to find his asthma pump and encourage them to use their inhaler
Reassure the person, keep them calm
