cardiac arrest

100-120 compressions per minute
compression depth
adults: 5-6 cm , 2 - 2.4 in
children : 5 cm, 1/3 depth of chest
infants : 4 cm, 1/3 depth of chest
chest recoil
allows heart of refill with blood completely before next compression
rescue breathing ratios
adults : 30 to 2
children/infants w one rescuer : 30 to 2
children/infants w two rescuer : 15 to 2
steps of cpr
- verify scene safety
- responsiveness and request help
- assessment (breathing/pulse)
- begin cpr
aed pad placement
adult : upper right and lower left
peds : sandwich method
