Critical: child at risk of serious harm and need for immediate protection
Very Urgent: at risk of harm but not in immediate danger

Discuss questioning child

A

1) if a child has made a disclosure to an adult who can give you the info DO NOT question child further.
2) If it is unclear what disclosure was made but there is no urgent safety issues: DONT QUESTION.
3) If absolutely necessary to probe child’s safety use open ended questions.
4) If questioning a child and it becomes clear an offence has occurred: STOP
