Q

Justification of 3/4 week timescale

A

Allows appropriate time for the skill to be grooved in and become habitual.

The practices are progressive meaning the performer won’t experience drive reduction as goals won’t be achieved too early.

Allows motor programme to be developed.

Sufficient time for adaptations/hypertrophy to occur.

Represents a microcycle which could form part of a mesocycle in a competitive phase.

Q

Frequency

A

Warm up/ cool down every session

Once a week

Aim to do 2/3 sessions each time in order to work on a range of things to improve passing technique

30 minutes so groove in technique

Q

Progressions

A

Keep ball
Reduce space - first touch (prep)

Passing drill
Increase space - accuracy (exec)

Circle ball
Reduce to one touch - technique (exec)

Transition game
More defenders - faster (prep/exec)

Progression for most of practices as I go through

Q

Justification of Passing drill

A

No external feedback to encourage intrinsic/kinaesthetic feedback -> more autonomous.

Massed to groove in improving consistancy, improved fitness so VO2 Max

Q

Justification of circle ball

A

Repetitive use of leg muscles (gastro/illiop) inscreases strength of these and connective tissues reducing change injury/reversibility.

Bilateral transfer motor programme transferred one limb another. Right foot/left foot so improves both feet

Q

Justification of 4 come game

A

Make sure COM -point body balanced all directions- directly over Base of support to improve stability.

Demonstrates operant conditioning - manip enviro and use T and E to find best way to keep away from defender. This will form and strengthen SR Bonds. Also give satisfier in form of +VE fdbck to ensure reinforcements occur.

Q

Justification of 2v2

A

Middle men working hard so SA of alveoli increased, increases rate of gaseous exch. Onset of fatigue delayed can perform longer.

Helps as practise is varied, enviro constantly changing, helps passing as open skill

Q

Justification of keep ball

A

Works on full routine as while practice. Gives kinaesthetic app whereas part practice is disjointed. Optimises positive transfer.

Hard work in middle TV and MV increase die to micro years in resp muscles (diaphragm). Lower risk of resp disease (asthma bronchitis)

Q

Justification of gate game

A

High intensity causes microtears in cardiac muscle causing cardiac hypertrophic. Increase resting SV from 70-90ml improving O2 del to working muscles (bicep femoris/illiop)

Externally paced and complex skill which varied practice helps recreate as defenders influence many decisions player makes.

Q

Justification of transition game

A

Short high intensity, type IIa muscle fibres microtear. Increases PC stores improving anaerobic capacity - sprint for longer. Also unrobe neurone size/amount of fibres- larger force of contraction- more powerful passes

Q

Justification of attackers vs defenders.

A

Resembles cog learning theory said to be best way to optimise learning. Realistic sit as actual goal/defenders. Left to play so can work through whole pattern. Will also use past experiences of passing to create scoring opportunity

15
Q

Justification of 5v5

A

Parents can watch to help combat social inhibition in actual game. At the end so players have already built dominant response so that as arousal increases, performance does , as well grooved in dom response which resembles drive theory of arousal.

Q

Justification of cool down

A

Maintains Vascular shiny mechanism ensuring muscles continue good 02 supply needed to oxidise lactic acid to prevent doms. Also removes waste products from muscles which are taken away in blood

Developmental stretches and pulse lowerer
