Management - Einteiltung
Senior - chief executive and his deputy work closely with the board of directors (eg: highest-level financial manager)
Middle - responsabilities of higher rank are delegated to the middle managment team (eg: chief accountant)
Junior - eg: bookkeepers and collection managers
Organisation - functional vs divisional
Graphically, in the form of an organisation chart.
FUNCTIONAL - each department has a special activity, or function (accounting department, essembling department etc)
DIVISIONAL - each division is concerd with a particular product (and each division itself will have a number of functional departments; VW Golf will have essembling department, coloring department etc)
Organisation - line vs staff
LINE - chain of commands (hierarchy, authority!!); each unit recieves commands from the one above and gives commands only to the one below.
STAFF - are NOT in the direct line of command; prodive advice or service services; marketing manager may be assisted by the marketing research unit but has no authority to this unit; they simply report to him

Intrapreneurship

Encourages entrepreneurial behaviour inside large business organisations by establishing separate venture groups with their own sub departments (development, production, marketing) and setting each of them a specific task.
Telecommuting
Regular employees work primarily off-site; their computers are hooked up with the firm’s own computers system.
Management - general

A group of people that control a business organisation and represent the interests of the company’s owners (shareholders).
Managers are concerned with preparing and making decisions, and ensuring that they are carried out.
- AUTHORITARIAN (threats, fear, punishment)
- CO-OPERATIVE (enterprise is more likely to have a continuous record of high productivity)
