A
Intense pain in affected I, worsens what time
Tearing
Redness

Corneal abrasion lab/diagnostics
A
Recent history of trauma of the eye
Sodium fluorescein stain detects abrasion

Corneal abrasion management
A
Anesthetize the eye for thorough exam to ensure no foreign body
Topical antibiotic ointment may be prescribed, especially in patient to wear contact lenses
Steroid drops contraindicated; anesthetic drops contraindicated after initial exam
Should be healed in 24 hours if not, refer
