A
Used to vegetatively regen a stand from stump sprouts, root suckering, air layering.

A
Intolerant species. most common with deciduous.

Pro and cons to coppice
A
Pros - high yield, inexpensive, low input
Cons- Degeneration of gene pool, Stocking and density control limited, species are already decided, difficult to control spacing of new stand (already decided).

A
Standards are planted trees that remain for a longer rotation than coppice regenerated trees in stand. Produces several products from single stands. uneven aged
