A
- Severe dyspnea, accessory muscle use
- cough rare, scant sputum
- AKA pink puffer
- Thin, no peripheral edema
- No adventitious breath sounds

- Chronic cough
- Mucopurulent sputum & chest infections
- Mild dyspnea
- Overweight, cyanotic- Blue bloater
- peripheral edema
- Noisy ronchi & wheezes

Bronchodilators (long acting first line), anticholinergis,
Steroids, O2, smoking cessation

- Hereditary disorder- emphysema dx early in life
- Cirrhosis, ascites,
- Tx with replacement therapy
