Converging lenses Flashcards
What to an incident ray parallel to the axis do in Converging lenses?
Refracts through the lens and passes through the PRINCIPLE FOCUS on the other side
What to an incident ray passing through the principle focus do in Converging lenses?
Refracts through the lens and travels parallel to the axis
What to an incident ray passing through the centre of the lens do in Converging lenses?
Carries on in the same direction
How do you draw a ray diagram?
Draw a parallel line from the top of the object and draw where it refracts (Through the principle focus).
Draw a line to the centre of the lens from the top of the object and draw it on the other side (continues in same direction)
Where thee 2 lines meet is the top of the image.
(Repeat for the bottom of the object if not on axis)
In ray diagrams, what does a converging lens look like?
