- Provide info. that graphic cannot
- Guide for bidders in producing cost estimates
- Guide for contractors in construciton methodology, procurement of matierlas, and work performance
Specifications provide what information?
- Quality of materials / workmanship
- Erection and Installation method
- Test and Inspection
What is a prescriptive specification?

What are the supplementary conditions?
- Modify GC
- Indicate deletions from GC
- Add to GC
What two ways can supplementary conditions be used?
- Contain special legal requirements of the contract that apply solely to the project at hand
- Be an additional common standard to a specific owner
What are addenda?
- Any changes in detail, correctinos, and contract conditions that arise before bids are open
- Become part of bid documents and isseud registered bidders
- Any chages after are dealt w/ as Change Orders
What are Attachments?
of other documents attached to the proposal, including
- pre-qualificaition statement
- bond forms
- listing of subcontractors
What is performance specification?
End result or performance of finished product
