what do hormonal methods rely on in contracpetion

it stimulates a thick mucus in the cervix which prevents sperm from reaching thr egg
what is the side effects of taking the pill
what are the alternatives to the pill
it is 99% effective at preventing pregnancy if taking properly. side effects are headaches or nausea.
alternatives such as a progesterone only pill has fewer side effects to the normal pill
what are the differences of iuds and where are the placed how long do they last
they are placed in the uterus
the plastic iud emmits progesterone which prevents sperm cells reaching the egg cell
while the copper iud will kill the sperm cells
they last over 3 years
how do non hormonal methods work
they work by preventing the sperm from meeting the egg

the are worn over the penis and trap any sperm
what do female condoms do
they are placed in the vagina and trap any sperm

what is the diaphragm
it fits over the cervix and it blocks sperm from every entering the uterus
it is unreliable so has to be used with spermicide
what is sterilisation
it is the cutting in females of the ovaries which is permanent
in men it is the cutting of the sperm ducts it prevents either eggs or sperm from being released
