Fights with Parliament over taxes and money. However, James was a good negotiator.

1614 for 4 weeks. It was discussion over the Great Contract by Robert Cecil to increase crown income and ultimately get rid of debt but nothing was accomplished and Parliament was closed.
What was also a tension between James and Parliament? E.g?
Royal Prerogative/Divine Right vs Parliamentary Privilege. For example, when the Lord Treasurer was sacked James was furious.

“Rex Pacificus”. He didn’t help his son of Law, Count Palatine Frederick, in the 30 years war.
