content development Flashcards
what is content development
process that takes the learner from one level of performance to another level of performance through a carefully designed sequence of tasks
3 main characteristics of content development
- learning experiences are sequenced from simple to complex / easy to hard
- focuses the learner on achieving good performance (quality)
- provides opportunities to apply or assess skills
Types of tasks
- informing (initial)
- extending
- refining
- application/assessment
intro of the skill & an instruction to begin practice
informing/ initial task
the sequence of tasks that add complexity or reduce form initial task
extension task
qualitative aspects of each of the extension tasks in your sequence, learning cues
refinement
competitive, self-testing or assessment if performance of the extension task
application/assessment
3 things learners need to be able to do in addition to skills
- combine skills
- use skills in more complex ways
- relate to others in both offensive and defensive relationships
4 stages to follow when planning the “game stage”
- develop control of the object
- complex control & combination of skills
- beginning offensive and defensive strategies
- complex game play
what is the objective of developing control of the object
maintaining possession of an object while moving in different ways and different speeds
what is the objective of complex and control & combination of skills
using skills co-operatvily with other learners & in combination
what is the objective of beginning offencisive & defensive strategies
use of skills in simple ozone and done roles
what is the objective of complex game play
engage in game play that approaches the formal version
what is involved in content analysis
experience observation age stage level
