What is the Consumer Rights Act?
States that goods should meet 3 criteria:
Product should be fit for its purpose
Product should match its description
Product should be satisfactory quality
What happens if producs don’t meet the legal requirements?
Customers can ask for their money back, a repair or a replacement.
What if a business breaks consumer law?
faced with cost and inconvenience of having to refund the customer, or replace or repair their item.
How can breaking consumer law lead to reduction of sales?
it can harm the reputation of the businesse
What do businesses need to make sure of to lower chance of breaking consumer law?
Train staff properly, so they sell products accurately and understand what a customers rights are if they are unhappy
