Staff need tp be doing their job properly - it’s important that businesses spend more money and time on training their staff well.

Products need to be inspected to check the quality is good enough. This costs both time and money.

Aims to make quality the responsibility of every employee in a firm, to make sure quality remains constant.

On getting things right first time - this reduces costs by cutting down on waste.

What is downside of TQM?
It takes a long time to introduce. Workers need training so that they see quality as their responsibility - employees can get demotivated as it may seem like a lot of extra work.
