- You give accurate information to relevant people relating to your plans
- To aid the understanding of information received.
- enable clear objectives to be defined and set
- To devise roles and responsibilities
How can we gain information from our clients?
- Use positive body language
- Ask open and closed questions
- Use relevant and effective questioning methods
- Always maintain eye contact as this gains the clients trust and shows that you are interested in what they have got to say
- use technology (Phones/tablets and computer etc)
- Use visual aids
- Keep conversation relevant to the service
What are the steps to consulting with a client?
- We must first listen and find out information
- We can then ask questions about what the client likes and dislikes
- By obtaining this information we can then move forward and conquer suitability

it is important to not discriminate against clients with illnesses and disabilities because
- By doing this you are not meeting the legal requirements of the disabilities act
- You could lose business
- Can gain a bad reputation for the salon
- The client can take legal action against you.
Why is it important to create a setting during consultation in which the client feels comfortable.
- To relieve stress and tension
- To prevent embarrassment
- To make the client feel able to discuss the problem
So that the client feels that someone will listen and take them seriously, whilst maintaining confidentiality.
What is the elasticity test? Answer WHY WHEN and HOW we use this test.
WHY - To determine the condition of the cortex as well as the strength of the hair
WHEN - This is carried out on wet hair prior to the service
