Discovery phase/ defining the problem in consulting model
Collect data to define gaps between desired and actual performance and identify possible causes for the gap, identify threats, challenges, and liabilities
Design and implementation phase of consulting model
Criteria for an effective solution are defined and an appropriate tactic is chosen
Measure effectiveness phase of the consulting model
Solution effects are measured to determine if the objectives of the consultation have been met and had the desired strategic impact
Sustain the improvement phase in the consulting model

Swot analysis
The group brainstorms stengths, weaknesses, opprotunites, and threats, and agree on a numeral value for each
Soar analysis
Group decision-making tool. The group identifies strengths, opportunities, aspirations, and results. A frame work that combines fact-finding with a company’s goals and desires, presenting an analysis of the company’s actual state and how it will measure achievement.
Multi-criteria decision analysis (MCDA)
Type of analysis in which a team determines critical characteristics of a successful decision and then uses a matrix to score each alternative and compare results.
Consultation
Providing guidance to comapny stakeholders; involves diagnosing problems or identifying opportunities, developing effective solutions, winning support for solutions, and implementing them effectively solutions.

Group discussion is critical to identifying all relevant cost and benefits
Force-field analysis
Tool designed to analyze the forces favoring and opposing a particular change; a group identifies and weighs factors that could influence an outcome in either a negative or positive manner according to their possible impact and then uses these factors to score different opprotunities

Visualization of the impact of change on productivity. When change is introduced there is typically a decrease in productivity and then a gradual return to or ideally a surpassing of previous levels of productivity.
