What is consensus politics?
The term refers to those periods in UK political history where there has been a great deal of general agreement over policies among the main parties

No fundamental, ideological differences between the parties. They may disagree with details of the policy but there is a general agreement over goals of policy
What is Adversary politics?
When there are divisions between the parties and sometimes within the parties.

Often described as post-Thatcher consensus. Tony Blair and his leadership group became dominant and parties had to accept the call values of ‘new Labour’ were extremely popular.
