connective tissue diagrams Flashcards
where is areolar tissue located?
loose - wraps and cushions organs, under epithelia
where are osteons (haversian systems) located
bone, support and protect
where is blood tissue found?
blood - transports
Where is hyaline found?
cartliage - End of bones and trachea/nose/larynx, supports and reinforces
where is fibrocartilage found?
cartilage- pubic synthesis, absorbs shock
where is elastic CARTILAGE found?
cartilage - external ear (pinna) - maintains shape of structure while allowing flexibility
where is adipose found?
loose - Under skin in subcutaneous tissue, reserves food fuel and insulates heat
where is reticular found?
loose - Lymphoid organs, supports other cell types with its soft internal skeleton
where is regular found?
dense - tendons and ligaments, holds both together and withstands stress
where is irregular found?
dense - Fibrous capsules of organs, dermis, and joints, withstand tension and provide structural strength
where is elastic TISSUE found?
dense - Walls of large arteries, recoil/movement after/during stretching
fibers and cell types of osteons
osteoblasts, collagen fibers
fibers and cell types of blood tissue
white and red blood cells, NO FIBERS IN BLOOD
fibers and cell types of hyaline cartilage
chondrocytes, collagen fibers
fibers and cell types of fibrocartilage
chondrocytes, collagen fibers
