Q

Describe the structure of fibroblast

A

Nuclei are condensed and elongated in a direction of a fiber
Cytoplasm barely visible
Cells are thin and long
Cytoplasm recesses extend to matrix

Q

What are myofibroblast

A

Myofibroblasts are activated forms of fibroblasts associated with contractile function and the role of repair. They have prominent nucleoli and the nuclei is large and cytoplasmic is extensive and basophilic. Basophilic extracellular matrix is prominent. They also secrete matrix.

Q

What are collagen

A

are found in most supporting tissue, Provide tensile strength, resist pulling, stretching, and tearing. They can form fiber, mesh/network some cell membrane material. There are 28 collagen, grouped according to their morphology, amino acid composition and physical property.

12
Q

Main structural collagen, Found in fibrous tissues. Stained pink using Haematoxylin and Eosin. Fibers vary in orientation, size and density and they use light microscopy.

17
Q

Describe the elastin

A

Arranged in discontinuous sheet in the extracellular matrix. They are stretching and elastic recoil. Found in blood vessels, and lungs, they are important in blood vessels, and they are capable of bringing back the shape after the deformation of the structure. They have a different functions then they will be found in different proportions. Elastin fibre are eosinophils and bent light, they have special elastin stains.

18
Q

Amorphous, transparent semi-solid gel material. They have glycoproteins and complex carbohydrates and water-binding availability.

A

Ground substances.

19
Q

Differentiates the stain of ground substances in acian blue and H & E.

A

In alcian blue they are stained wispy blue in the background of pink stained collagen fibers and in H & E they are stained pale blue in the collagen.

20
Q

made up of type IV collagen and stained by PAS

A

Basement membrane

21
Q

functions of basement membrane

A
  1. binding of epithelium tissue
  2. Differentiation of epithelial and growth
  3. Regulates permeability
22
Q

Sheet like arrangements of extra-cellular matrix proteins.

Act as an interface (in-between) between support tissues and epithelial/parenchymal tissues.

A

Basement membrane.

23
Q

Are adipose derived from mesenchyme true or false?

A

True

24
Q

what are adipose

A

are supportive tissue for the storage of adipocytes.

25
Q

differentiates two types of adipose tissue

A

White adipose tissue is pale yellow and they are , macroscopic. Brown adipose tissue are darker tint and appears brown.

26

A

White adipose tissue

27
Q

Functions of white adipose tissue

A

forms part of shock-absorbing padding
Act as a thermal insulator under the skin
Storage and mobilization of triglyceride
Structural fill.

28
Q

function of brown adipose tissue

A

Regulation of temperature, and heat.

29
Q

What do the lobules of brown adipose tissue do?

A

Lobules are separated by fibrous septa which convey blood vessels and nerve fibers.

30

A

Brown adipose tissues

31
