What are Conjunctions?
Words used to express connections between other words. The most common are and, but, and or.
What are Coordinating Confunctions?
Conjunctions that connect elements of equal syntactic status.
What are Conjoins?
Items connected by a coordinator.
What are Subordinating Conjunctions?
Conjunctions that connect elements of unequal syntactic status. Some common ones are although, because, before, since, unless, whether.
What is Syndetic Coordination?
Normal Coordination formed with a Coordinator.
What is Asyndetic Coordination?
Coordination formed without the use of a Coordinator. (i.e.: I need [bread], [cheese], [eggs] and [milk])
What is Polysyndetic Coordination?
Coordination used for effect and sometimes for expressing continuation.
What is False/Pseudo Coordination?
Using a coordinator without any coordinating role. (i.e.: good and ready; try and come).
