What are Adverbs?
Words used for modifying verbs, adjectives, or other adverbs.
What suffix do adverbs end with?
-ly.
Are Adverbs gradable?
Yes.
What is a Degree Adverb?
An adverb that specifies the degree to which another adjective or adverb occurs.
What is a Circumstantial Adverb?
An adverb that expresses the circumstances of something.
What are Additive Adverbs?
Adverbs that “add” two or more items.
What are Exclusive Adverbs?
Adverbs that focus attention on what follows them, no matter if there is a possibility.
What are Particularizers?
Adverbs that focus attention on what follows them and don’t exclude other possibilities.
What are the Wh- Adverbs?
When, where, and why are the main ones.
What is a Sentence Adverb?
An adverb that modifies a whole sentence (i.e.: Honestly, it doesn’t matter. “Honestly” modifies the whole sentence.)
