A coordinating conjunction is placed between words, phrases, clauses, or sentences of equal rank, e.g. and, but, or.

A
A correlative conjunction is a type of conjunction that functions in a pair, with both words working together to balance words, phrases, or clauses.
E.g. Both/and, either/or, neither/nor

Subordinating
A
A subordinating conjunction is a connecting word or phrase that introduces a dependent clause, joining it to a main clause. Most subordinating conjunctions are single words (such as because, before, and when). However, some subordinating conjunctions consist of more than one word (such as even though, as long as, and except that).
