The expectations we gave of others behavior eg a teacher is expected to be caring or strict etc
Conforming is identification- only when in that particular role
People learn how to behave by watching others.

Guards became brutal+ sadistic
Prisoners ‘told tales’ on eachother

By 4th became sexually harassed
Stopped after 6 not 14 days
