Q

Define sample estimate

A

Estimate of the population parameter

If we repeated sampled from a population, we would get different estimates each time. The bullseye is the population parameter

Q

What are confidence intervals?

A

Measure of uncertainty of a sample estimate

Standard deviation is used to calculate the 95% CI which quantifies uncertainty of a sample estimate to approximate the population parameter

There is a 95% probability that the confidence interval contains the population parameter
