Concentration and Solubility Pt. 2 Flashcards

1
Q

What is dissociation?

A

the separation of ions that occurs when an ionic compound dissolves

Ex. NaCl(s) —> Na^+1(aq)+Cl^-1(aq)

Q

What is the Ionic Equation?

A

this is the equation that represents the elements and their charges in the reaction
- always keep the solid, liquid, or gas together

Ex. K^+1+Cl-^1+Ag+1=NO3^-1—>AgCl(s)+K^+1+NO3^-1

Q

What is the Net Ionic equation

A

this equation demonstrates how the elements come together to form the precipitate.

EX. Cl^-1+Ag^1—>AgCl(s)
