What is an operating system? (OS)
The software that supports a computer’s basic functions, such as scheduling tasks, executing applications and controlling peripherals.
Two most common OS:
- Microsoft Windows
- MacOS
What is phishing?
The fraudulent practice of sending emails purporting to be from reputable companies in order to induce individuals to reveal personal information, such as passwords and credit card numbers.
What is Ransomware?
Ransomware is a type of malware from cryptovirology that threatens to publish the victim’s data or perpetually block access to it unless a ransom is paid.
What is the internet?
Creates connections between computers around the world.
What is the intranet?
Creates connection inside and organization.
What is the extranet?
Creates connections beyond (or outside of) an organization.
What is cloud storage?
A model of computer data storage in which the digital data is stored in logical pools, said to be on “the cloud”. The physical storage spans multiple servers, and the physical environment is typically owned and managed by a hosting company.
Why is it important to organize files?
