Purpose of compressor washing
A
- remove the accumulation of salt, dust, and industrial products

Why must compressors be washed regularly
A
To remove deposits, from dirty compressor blades and corrosion

How much it is checked is dependant on
A
- AMM
- Salt laden atmosphere
- Industrial areas
- Sudden drop in engine performance

What are these :
- ZOK 27 (Detergent)
- Demineraliser water
- for cold conditions, an anti ice inhibitor (methonal)
- details will be laid down in relevant aircraft publication

Fluids used For normal washing

Before washing what must you do :
A
- ZOK is to be diluted
- Ratio of chemical to water must be prepared
- Ensure all air services are switched off
- opening delivery valve to quickly could slow engine down and possibly flame out
