components of fitness Flashcards
Aerobic Endurance
Cardiovascular
The ability of cardio respiratory system to work efficiently, supplying nutrients and oxygen to working muscles during sustained physical activity.
Muscular Strength
The maximum force(in KG or N) that can be generated by a muscle or muscle group.
Flexibility
Having an adequate range of motion in all joints of the body; the ability to move a joint fluidly through its complete range of movement.
Speed
Distance dived by time taken speed is measured in metres per second(m/s).The faster an athletes run over a given distance, the greater their speed.
Muscular Endurance
The ability of muscular system to work efficiently, where a muscle can continue contracting over a period of time against a light moderate fixed resistance load.
Body Composition
The relative ratio of fast mass to fat free mass in the body.
Coordinate
The smooth flow of a movement needed to perform a motor task efficiently and accurately.
Balance
The ability to maintain centre of mass over a base support.
Agility
The ability of a sports performer to quickly and precisely move or change direction without losing balance or time.
Power
The product of strength and speed expressed as the work done in a unit of time.
Reaction time
The time taken for a sports performer to respond to a stimulus and the initiation of their response.
What are the phyiscal components of fitness?
Aerobic Endurance, Muscular Strength,Flexibility,Speed,Muscular Endurance and body composition.
What are the skill related components of fitness?
Coordinate,Balance,Agility,Power and Reaction time.
The two types of aerobic endurance are…….?
It can also be known as cardiovascular endurance or cardio respiratory fitness
